North Railway Ave. between Main St. and PTH 32 was in very poor condition and needed a renewal.  An asphalt surface and crushed rock base design was completed to replace the existing roadway.

Project Update August 22, 2024:

Asphalt lifts were completed successfully and the road has been re-opened to the public.  Ditch cleanup, grading and adjacent access installations are ongoing.

Project Update July 23, 2024:

During the demolition of the existing roadway, it was discovered that the subgrade was in very poor condition largely due to organic materials and a very high-water table. During our discovery of the subgrade conditions, we were also met with several rainfall events, which resulted in large delays. The new asphalt roadway design was adjusted to better match the newly discovered conditions. The crews are currently completing the final granular lift, followed with placement of curbs and an asphalt surface.
