The City of Winkler’s main purpose is to make our residents and visitors alike feel pride for the community, province, and country they live in or visit.  Our Community Services Department plays an important role in this by providing services, activities and events that enhance the quality of life for our residents and visitors.  We promote health, wellness, learning and fun by maintaining our parks, facilities and outdoor spaces as well as providing programming in these various indoor and outdoor spaces. What You’ll Do:

The Parks & Recreation Maintenance Worker will work alongside the rest of the Parks & Recreation team in maintaining and operating all the facilities in the Parks & Recreation Department such as the Meridian Exhibition Centre, Centennial Arena, Winkler Aquatic Centre as well as Winkler’s many parks and trails.
 

What You’ll Bring:

 
A positive and dedicated attitude with great team spirit and self-motivation. You will also bring basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, and janitorial work.

Qualifications You’ll Need: 

  • A valid Manitoba driver’s license
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Good communication skills for teamwork and working with the public
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision
  • A criminal record check may be required

Training

Important to the long-term success in this position is obtaining a Level 1 Pool Management and Level 1 and 2 Arena Management certificate as well as a Manitoba Refrigeration Certificate.

Job Details:

Full-time, permanent position with shift work included
