We all know people that have made a difference in our community. Some have touched us personnally, others have contributed to positive change in our community. Please take the time to recognize that someone that has made Winkler a better place. Nomination forms are now available on this website or at the City Hall Office.

What's New?

The Winkler Community Foundation is committed to connecting donors with opportunities to support causes they care about, as well as responding to the changing needs of our community.

No matter the size, all gifts to the Foundation have impact because they are pooled and permanently invested to generate income for granting.

WCF grants once a year in Fall.

2012 Grant recipients will be announced at the Citizen of the Year banquet on Thursday, October 25, 2012. All applicants will be notified the first week of November.

Grant applications for 2012 are to be received by September 30th.

Vital Signs

A report card that measures the quality of life in the community of Winkler, identifies trends, and shares opportunities for action.The Foundation is working together with community leaders to gather information that is important to our community.

The report will be available early October 2012.

Citzen of the Year guest Speaker is Wilma Derksen

Since the abduction and murder of her daughter Candace in 1984, Wilma Derksen has influenced victims, offenders and the community by telling her story.

Wilma is the author of Have you seen Candace?, Confronting the Horror: the aftermath of violence and The Emerald Angel.
